Potala Palace, you'll be impress by the spectacular
architecture. Once was the living quarters of
the Dalai Lama, with nearly 10,000 rooms structure

Putuo Hill. Then, the Norbulingka Palace, which
was the Summer Palace of Tibetan Kings. You
also get a chance to see the Sera Monastery,
where monks asemble each afternoon to discuss
and debate the fine points of Buddhism. Afterward,

Today's sight seeing begins with the 7th century
Jokhang Monastery, one of the holiest shrines
in Tibet, where pilgrims come to prostrate themselves
before the statue of the Sakyamuni Buddha, lavishly
enthroned in silver and gold. Then, continues
on to the clifftop Drepung Monastery. In the
afternoon, stroll through the Barkhor Market,
a maze of streets lined with stalls where all
manner of goods are sold. In the evening, you'll
be treated to a special Tibetan dinner, and

SHIGATSEY
our sightseeing today will continous in Gang
Ba La Mt., 4990 meters high above the sea level,
to visit the third largest Holy Lake in Tibet
- Lake Yangzuoyong. Then coach to Gyanstse to
visit Palkhor Monastery, also name Palcho Monastery
is very different with other monasteries. It
lies about 230 kilometers (143 miles) south
of Lhasa and 100 (62 miles) east ofShigatse,
at the foot of the Dzong Hill. As a typical
fifteenth Tibetan monastery, its structural

Morning visit to Tashi Ihunpo Monastery, former
living quarters of the Banchan Lama. After lunch,

After breakfast, fly back to Chengdu and enjoy
a half-day tour to Leshan featuring the Grand
Buddha, a 71 metres high, carved into a cliff
face in 713 AD. It's also known as the wrold
largest Buddha statue. You also get a chance
to see the Thousand-Buddha Cliffs with its 2,400
Buddhas dot the cliffs, dating back as far as

Tour to Trandruk Monastery in the morning. It
lies five kilometers (three
miles) south of Tsedang, was built approximately
under the reign of
Songtsen Gampo, and famous throughout Tibet
since it was the first
Buddhist chapel ever built in Tibet. Yumbu Lakang,
reputed as the first
palace in Tibet history, is also one of the
earliest building in Tibet. Lying 12 kilometers
(7.5 miles) southwest of Tsedang, it perches
on a small hill top east of Yarlong River. (Meals:

In the morning, you'll be taken on coach back
Lhasa. On the way to Lhasa, you will have a
change to visit Samye Monastery, which was completed

Mt. Everest, also known as Mt. Qomolangma,
meaning Goddess Third in Tibetan, is the highest

lies at the border between China and Nepal.
