ITINERARY A


 
Approaching Tibet 8 DAYS / 7 NIGHTS (every Wed & Sat)
D1 BEIJING (CHENGDU) / LHASA
Take a flight of China Southwest Airline to Lhasa. Upon arrival, meet and transfer to downtown (about 2 hrs) along with sightseeing of Tibet village. You'll have a rest in your hotel this afternoon to adapt plateay climates.(Meals: Dinner )
D2 LHASA
Today you'll visit the highest palace in the world - Potala Palace, former living quarters of the Dalai lama, its massive 1000-room structure towers over this mountain city. Visit famous Barkhor Market, where you can shop for rare Tibetan items. Tour one of Tibet's holiest shrines, revered 7th century Jokhang Temple, where pilgrims come to prostrate themselves before the statue of the Sakyamuni Buddha, lavishly enthroned in silver and god.(Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner )
D3 LHASA / YANGBAJING / LHASA
After breakfast, you will have a chance to visit Yangbajing Hot Springs famous as its geothermal vapor, located in the grassland of northern Tibet and nestling among the hills with an expanse of white snow. Coach back Lhasa in the evening. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
D4 LHASA /GYANSTSE/ SHIGATSE
Your sightseeing today will continous in Gang Ba La Mt., 4990 meters high above the sea level, to visit the third largest Holy Lake in Tibet - Lake Yangzuoyong. Then coach to Gyanstse to visit Palkhor Monastery (sightseeing tickets will be at your own charge), also name Palcho Monastery is very different with other monasteries. It lies about 230 kilometers (143 miles) south of Lhasa and 100 (62 miles) east of Shigatse, at the foot of the Dzong Hill. As a typical fifteenth Tibetan monastery, its structural style is very unique. Stay over night in Shigatse (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
D5 SHIGATSE / LATSE / TINGGRI
Morning visit to Tashi Ihunpo Monastery, former living quarters of the Banchan Lama. After lunch, you will continue on your drive to Lhatse (T-cross to Mt. Everest) by cross-country vehiles, and crossing over the Gyatsola Pass at 5,220 m, which is the highest enroute. This afternoon, you will arrive in Tinggri (Shegar) and stay overnight at Xue Bao Hotel. (Meals: Breakfast, Local Lunch & Dinner)
D6 TINGGRI / RONGBUK / MT. EVEREST
Starting 30 kilometers (20 miles) south from Tinggri, you will reach a checkpoint. 11 kilometers (7miles) west of the checkpoint, a new road and an old one turn off south to Everest Base Camp. A 78-kilometer (48-mile) trek leads to Rongbuk Monastery, which is the highest monastery on the earth. Its altitude is 5,100 meters (16728 feet). From there you will have a chance to enjoy a distant view of 8848 meters (29028 feet) high peak of Mt. Everest, also known as Mt. Qomolangma, meaning Goddess Third in Tibetan, is the highest peak in the world. (Meals: Breakfast, Local Lunch & Dinner)
D7 MT. EVEREST / RONGBUK / TINGGRI / LATSE / SHIGATSE / LHASA
After enjoying beautiful sunrise at Mt. Everest, you will be driven 10-12 hours back Lhasa. (Meals: Breakfast, Local Lunch & Dinner)
